"Macon Mo Online LLC" is officially established 9/21/26" ...
We initially published this website in March of 2026 to list the city council & mayoral candidates that were running for office in the April 7th election. From day one, we realized this website was the perfect platform to continue investigating and reporting on local issues that affect Maconites & all Missourians.
On September 21, 2026, we took Macon Mo Online and formed “Macon Mo Online LLC.” We are now a registered LLC in the state of Missouri. This was necessary due to the rapid evolution of our website. We currently have over 60 blog posts, and we are averaging over 6,200 page views in a 30-day period.
Our blog section carries the name “Macon Moonline Investigates.” We currently have about a dozen ongoing investigations that we are running as "independent series." We have been funding our investigations personally, and it is getting expensive.
We submitted a “Sunshine Law Request” to the City of Macon concerning an ordinance and zoning change from a single-family property to a multi-family property that was voted on and “approved” by the City Council a few months ago. We requested this information so we could share the process of buying an abandoned or run-down home, demolishing it, and building a duplex or triplex in its place. All citizens of Macon deserve to know the procedures for doing this. We should all have an equal opportunity to move forward with such a project. Why should this be reserved for just a special few people?
I received a response from the City Clerk stating that it will cost $232 in fees to obtain this information. I responded that I could not afford the fees. I explained that my request was not for profit, but to share this information with all of the citizens of Macon. I requested that the fees be waived. As of yet, I have not heard anything further from the City.
We also recently received FOIA documents from the EPA concerning an investigation that affects all of the citizens and the City of Macon itself. This is part of an ongoing forensic investigation and is going to require many hours of research before we publish the next article in this series.
This is what Macon Moonline Investigates is about. We are willing to spend the time digging through records, following documents and asking questions that deserve answers. But this work takes time, and in many cases it also costs money.
There is a trove of information that we can extract for free from the Internet. Unfortunately, Sunshine Law Requests can be expensive, and so are downloading documents from pay databases.
We will soon be equipped to accept contributions from citizens, local businesses, local industries & corporations to help fund the operations of this website. Contributions in no way buy influence or opinion. We are simply reporting as accurately as possible. The reader can come to their own conclusions.
This website will always be available to our readers at no charge. The reason that we launched this website was to reach out to our neighbors with articles of local interest. We are getting many kind comments & emails from our Macon readers, and we appreciate all of you.
Currently, we are averaging over 6,200 views in a 30-day period. Articles of interest are getting 800-900 views or more in a period of just a few days. We are surprised by the engagement & we are grateful.
We are not asking our readers to simply take our word for anything. We want you to see the records, understand the process and decide for yourself what the information means. These investigations belong to the community because the issues we investigate affect the community.

Macon Mo Online LLC is not a left wing or a right wing website that offers political favoritism for Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, Independents, or any other political parties. We are here to report on activities that take place in the city & county of Macon, Mo., as well as surrounding counties & the state of Missouri when called for.
